Romantic Comedy and Vi Keeland

Guess what I found out, folks? No, I haven't suddenly discovered that the third highest paid male model in America shaves his ass, it's much worse than that. Half (a conservative estimate by the way) of the books in Amazon's romantic comedy are incredibly light on the comedy. I've laughed harder after stubbing my toe stepping out of the shower than I did after reading some of the books claiming to be a mixture of humor and romance. I love light-hearted humor. A good old fashioned belly laugh should be mandatory whilst reading that genre. Which brings me to the subject at hand. Vi Keeland.

Not only does she deliver a better storyline than an overdue Domino's pizza delivery driver, she will have you laughing out loud on every page. Okay! There are some pages where you'll only be smiling. I'm throwing that disclaimer out there. Legal reasons. Vi is a true romantic comedy author, and anybody who disagrees with that statement can shove a small cactus up their... (probably best to leave the destination to the imagination of each individual reader, besides, why does it have to be a small cactus?) I digress.

Do yourself a favor. Check out Vi Keeland on Amazon and check out the "look inside" feature of her books. Here are two links for you to start.

Ego Maniac

Boss Man

I have no affiliation to Ms. Keeland, but I am a fan of true romantic comedy and of her writing style.

Moving from Kindle Free to Kindle Paid - The 'Dear Roz' Romantic Comedy Serial

Well, the journey continues. Having reached as high as #12 in the Kindle Bestseller Rankings in Free, I had dropped down to #75 before I ended the promotion and joined the paid ranks for this collection of 4 novellas. The Dear Roz Romantic Comedy Serial slotted into the paid Bestseller rankings at just over #32,000, which was very good due to how well it did when free (almost 11,000 downloads) not bad for a newbie author.

From there, it plummeted down to 65,000 almost overnight (I almost lost my lunch) before rebounding to around the #43,000 mark. Shortly after that it moved to #14,168 and at this moment in time is #9,968. Both categories had my book well over #10,000 but after a couple of days, the book is #200 in collections & Anthologies and up from #1114 to #806 in Romantic Comedy which is extremely competitive.

Now it's just a question of tweaking keywords and reverse engineering categories to try and sustain or improve rankings. Fluctuations are inevitable as is its eventual slide. Apparently the 30 day drop is almost a given. (Good job I have so many others to take up the slack, none of which I have promoted at all, as yet) I have a couple of books finished but in need of serious editing and a few more started to various degrees which will shortly claim my attention.

Giving birth (as it were) to a new book is sooooo exciting. Watching it climb and fall in the ratings is no different than watching a nine month old baby making his or her first attempts at standing and then walking. Falling and getting back up to try yet again is the only way to go. I love being an Indie author. I enjoy writing and am fascinated with marketing, the two biggest facets of being an independent author. I'd love you to join me on this journey.

The Dear Roz Romantic Comedy Serial - Published on Amazon KDP

Hi, everybody. All I can say is it's been very exciting over the last two days. Although I have enrolled all but one of my novellas into KDP Select, the one I chose to promote first was the box set with 4 stories inside.

The Dear Roz Romantic Comedy Serial went from oblivion to #9800 to #8650 to #19 to #13 and then to #12 (can you believe it?) before starting to slide back down in the ranking. As of this moment it is #17 in the Bestseller Free rankings. Also #1 and #2 in its two chosen catagories.  GET IT NOW WHILE IT'S STILL FREE. The chances are I'll be ending the 5 day promo early (before it slips out of the Top 100  Free) and put it into the paid section at $0.99 for a week to ten days to try and give it a boost into the paid sales. If you want to download it for FREE right now, go to this link:

Exclusively on AMAZON - ALL (but one) of my novellas will be free for 5 days starting from February 12th

Hi there, everybody. The reason I haven't posted anything for a while is because I have been gearing up to finally putting my books on Amazon. As the heading suggests, they will all be free for 5 days as from some time on Sunday Feb 12th. There were some unforeseen problems with 2 of the books which led to a delay. Sunday the 5th is Superbowl, not the best time to start any promotion. Heck, not even I would be checking for any books tomorrow or Monday.

Here are a list of the books that will be free to download.

Book 1 in the Dear Roz serial - The Lover's Workshop
Book 2 in the Dear Roz serial - Rook Battles Knight
Book 3 in the Dear Roz serial - Checkmate, My Love
Book 4 in the Dear Roz serial - The Laird of Bahscot
The Dear Roz Romantic Comedy Serial (all 4 of the books above in one bundle)

Dear Roz the Prequel - Nathan Knows Best  ($0.99 until I can make it perma-free)
(pssst! You can read it directly below, although there have been a few minor changes made)

The Emergency Hotline
The Love Legacy
Betrayal's Cruel Song

My Husband, Your Wife, Our Child (a romantic erotica novella co-written between Xaviera Spice and myself)

I hope you will avail yourself of these books, and if you enjoy reading them as much as I did writing them, I would be eternally grateful if you would be kind enough to take two minutes out of your time to write a quick review. Each book contains a link in the 'Thank You' page which will take you directly to the review page. If you hate my work, please feel free to ignore this message.   :o)

p.s. If you see these books up on Amazon with inflated prices, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BUY. Prices were only put there to discourage anyone from purchasing. I needed to know how they looked on the Amazon purchase page. They looked great on my downloaded previewer, but 2 of them not so great in Amazon proper. Hopefully the problems have been ironed out.
